LONGLIFE Variant
Overview
Thingsee ENVIRONMENT LONGLIFE is a factory-bundled kit combining the standard Thingsee ENVIRONMENT multipurpose sensor with the Thingsee POWERCOVER extended battery pack, sold as a single SKU for deployments where multi-year, maintenance-free operation is the priority.
This page documents only what differs from the standard ENVIRONMENT. For everything else — installation steps, configuration parameters, message formats, measurement specifications — see the links in Unchanged from Standard ENVIRONMENT below.

Why the battery swap
POWERCOVER replaces the sensor’s own AAA batteries entirely — when POWERCOVER is attached, the sensor’s internal battery compartment is left empty and POWERCOVER becomes the sole power source. This is what extends battery life from ~4–5 years to up to 10 years.
Certifications
The LONGLIFE bundle combines two individually certified components:
- Thingsee ENVIRONMENT sensor: CE, FCC, ISED, UKCA, RCM, MIC, NOM, NYCE, IFT — RoHS, WEEE, REACH compliant
- Thingsee POWERCOVER: CE, FCC, ISED, UKCA — RoHS compliant
