LAN Access

Availability

Gateway XS supports two cloud backhaul options: Haltian-managed cellular connectivity and wired LAN connectivity. A deployment uses either cellular or LAN as its backhaul according to the deployment requirements.

LAN access is available for customer-specific deployments. Confirm the service scope and network requirements with Haltian before deployment.

Use cases

LAN access is intended for locations where the customer’s IT or security requirements call for a wired network connection instead of cellular backhaul.

General network requirements

The gateway initiates outbound connections to Haltian services. It does not require inbound ports to be opened on the customer network.

Haltian recommends placing gateways that use LAN access on a dedicated VLAN, isolated from other corporate network traffic.

The approved firewall rules, endpoint domains, ports, and transport-security requirements depend on the deployment configuration. Confirm these requirements with Haltian before connecting the gateway to the customer network.
