Troubleshooting
Login Issues
Can’t log in
- Verify your organization name, username (email), and password are correct
- Check that you are using the correct URL: https://haltian-iot-studio.eu.haltian.io
- If you forgot your password, contact your organization’s Manager to reset it
- Clear your browser cache and try again
“No Role” error after login
Your account exists but has no role assigned in the organization. Contact your Manager to assign you a role (Viewer, Installer, Designer, or Manager).
Navigation Issues
Missing tabs or sidebar items
Your role determines which sections are visible. If you don’t see Organization in the top bar or specific sidebar items, your role doesn’t include those features. Contact your Manager to check your permissions.

Page shows blank content
Try refreshing the page (F5 or Ctrl+R). If the issue persists, clear your browser cache or try a different browser.
Device Issues
Device not found in search
- Check that you’re searching by a valid identifier (name, customer label ID, vendor serial, GIAI, or device ID)
- Search is case-sensitive for some identifier types — try different capitalization
- The device may belong to a site you don’t have access to. Contact your Manager to verify your site access.
QR code scan not working
Using the device camera:
- Allow camera permissions when prompted by your browser
- Ensure good lighting and hold the camera steady
- Clean the QR code if it’s dirty or damaged
Using an external barcode scanner:
- Make sure the scanner is connected (USB or Bluetooth) and recognized by your device
- Check that the scanner is configured to output text — the scanned value should appear in the search field automatically
If scanning fails, try typing the device ID manually instead.
Measurements not showing
- The device may not have reported any data yet — check the Last seen timestamp
- Some device models report fewer measurement types — check the device specifications
- Click Refresh on the device details page to reload data
Can’t edit device name or keywords
Your role must be Installer, Designer, or Manager to edit device information. Viewers have read-only access.
Site Management Issues
Can’t create sites, buildings, or floors
Creating and editing the space hierarchy requires Designer or Manager role. If you have the right role but still can’t create, try refreshing the page.
Floor plan not displaying
- The floor must have a floor plan image uploaded — check the floor details
- Supported formats: JPEG, PNG
- Try refreshing the page if the image was recently uploaded
Can’t draw zones
Zones require a floor plan image on the parent floor. Upload a floor plan first, then create zones.
User Management Issues
Can’t find Users and Permissions
This feature is only available to the Manager role under the Organization tab. Other roles don’t see this option.
User can’t see expected sites
The user may have Selected Sites access instead of All Sites. Edit the user and check their site access settings.
