Install devices by positioning them on floor plans

Install devices by positioning them on floor plans.

Accessing Device Installation

From the sidebar, tap Devices under the Setup section.

Selecting a Floor

  1. Browse the list of available floors
  2. Each floor shows:
    • Thumbnail: Preview of the floor plan
    • Site name: The parent site
    • Building / Floor: Building and floor names
  3. Tap a floor to open the installation map

Installing Devices on the Floor Plan

  1. Scan or search for a device using the search field or QR scanner
  2. The device information appears at the top
  3. Position the crosshair on the floor plan where the device is located
  4. Tap Install to confirm the position
  5. The device is now associated with that location

Installation Tips

  • Zoom in for precise positioning
  • The crosshair shows exact meter coordinates
  • You can reposition devices after installation (see Installation Location)
  • Use QR code scanning for faster installation workflow
  • Physical device placement should match the digital position

Installation Workflow

A typical installation workflow:

  1. Navigate to the target floor in the app
  2. Walk to the physical installation location
  3. Install the physical device (mounting, etc.)
  4. Scan the device QR code in the app
  5. Position the crosshair at the installation point
  6. Tap Install
  7. Optionally assign keywords and add notes
  8. Move to the next device

Coordinates

The app displays coordinates in meters:

  • X coordinate: Horizontal position on the floor plan
  • Y coordinate: Vertical position on the floor plan
  • Coordinates are relative to the floor plan’s origin point

Reinstalling Devices

To change a device’s position:

  1. Open the device details
  2. Navigate to the Installation Location section
  3. Tap Position to edit the location
  4. Move the crosshair to the new position
  5. Tap Save

Uninstalling Devices

To remove a device from its location:

  1. Open the device details
  2. Navigate to Installation Location
  3. Swipe left on the location row
  4. Tap Uninstall
  5. Confirm the action

Note: Uninstalling removes the location association but doesn’t delete the device.
