Getting Started
This guide walks through installing Haltian IoT Studio on your iOS device and understanding the basic navigation.
Installation
Download via TestFlight
The app is currently available through Apple TestFlight for beta testing.
- Install TestFlight from the App Store (if not already installed)
- Open this link on your iPhone or iPad: https://testflight.apple.com/join/ZlZYgdLc
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install both TestFlight and Haltian IoT Studio
- Wait for installation to complete
Note: TestFlight apps expire after 90 days. You will receive a notification to update when a new version is available.
System Requirements
- Device: iPhone or iPad
- iOS Version: iOS 15.0 or later
- Network: Internet connection required
- Optional: Camera for QR scanning, NFC capability for tag setup
Logging In
Roles: All users
- Launch the Haltian IoT Studio app
- Enter your email address and password
- Tap Sign In
- Wait for the app to load your organization data
The app will automatically attempt to sign in using saved credentials on subsequent launches.
Tip: If auto-login fails, you will be returned to the login screen to re-enter your credentials.
Main Navigation
After logging in, you’ll see the main interface with a sidebar on the left and content area on the right.
Sidebar Sections
The sidebar is organized into the following sections:

| Inventory | Find and browse devices |
| Setup | Install devices and configure sites |
| Devices | Manage keywords, alerts, groups, and device configuration |
| Account | User settings and administration |
| Other | Additional tools and information |
| Experimental | Features in development (if enabled) |
Navigation Tips
- Tap a sidebar item to view that section
- Pull down on lists to refresh data
- Swipe left on list items for quick actions (delete, etc.)
- Use the back button to return to previous screens
- On iPad, toggle sidebar visibility using the sidebar button
Understanding User Roles
Your role determines what features you can access:
| Role | Key Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Viewer | View devices and measurements (read-only) |
| Installer | Install devices, assign keywords, edit properties |
| Designer | Create/modify spaces, floors, zones, floor plans |
| Manager | Full access including user management and exports |
| Sysadmin | Organization management and data retention |
To check your role:
- Open the sidebar
- Navigate to Account > Own settings
- View your Organization role
