Map and Location
Viewing device locations on maps and navigating the space hierarchy

The Device Details screen includes an interactive map showing where the device is located. The map appears in the Location section when the device has coordinates.
- Tap the map preview to expand it to fullscreen
- Pinch to zoom in and out
- Swipe to pan around
- The device location is shown with a pin on the map
You can switch between different map styles (light, dark, and other visual themes) depending on your preference.
Space Hierarchy
Devices are organized in a hierarchical location structure:
Organization
└── Location (Site)
└── Building
└── Floor
└── Zone
└── Device
The Device Details screen shows the device’s position in this hierarchy as a breadcrumb path (e.g., “Oulu Headquarter > Yrttipellontie 1 > 3rd floor”).
Space Types
| Level | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Location | A physical site or campus | Oulu Headquarter |
| Building | A building within a location | Yrttipellontie 1 |
| Floor | A floor within a building | 3rd floor |
| Zone | A logical area within a floor | Meeting Room Taika |
Device Location Sources
A device’s location on the map can come from:
- Live position — the device reports its own coordinates (e.g., a tracking tag)
- Installed position — coordinates assigned when the device was installed at a fixed location
When coordinates are available, the map shows the device with a pin marker.
