Keywords
Overview
Keywords are tags you assign to devices to organize and categorize them. They help you group devices by function, location, project, or any custom criteria meaningful to your organization.
With keywords, users in your organization can quickly find sets of devices, identify device groups, and see the nature or other specific metadata of a device at a glance. Keywords are also available via the APIs — for example, in Parquet data exports — enabling filtering and grouping in external analytics tools.
Viewing Keywords
Keywords appear as colored chips in the Keywords section on the Device Details screen. If no keywords are assigned, you see “No keywords assigned.”
Assigning Keywords
- On the Device Details screen, tap the edit button in the Keywords section
- The keyword assignment screen opens, showing all available keywords in your organization
- Use the search bar (“Search keywords”) to filter the list
- Tap a keyword to toggle it on or off — a checkmark indicates assignment
- Navigate back to save your changes
Keywords that are already assigned to the device show a checkmark. Tap again to remove the assignment.
Removing Keywords
- Open the keyword assignment screen as described above
- Tap the checkmarked keyword to deselect it
- The keyword is removed from the device
