Configuration
Overview
The Configuration screen lets you view and manage the settings of a device. Access it by tapping the Configure button on the Device Details screen.
All users can view the current device configuration. Users with Installer, Designer, or Manager roles can also modify settings and send configuration changes to the device.
The configuration page is different for each device type. The available settings and options vary depending on the device model, so you may see different parameters for different devices.
Viewing Configuration
When you open the Configuration screen, you see the current device settings if they have been retrieved. If no configuration data is available yet, tap Fetch Configuration from Device to request the latest settings from the device.
Changing Settings
Users with Installer role or above can modify device settings directly from the configuration screen. Depending on the setting, you may use:
- Input fields — for numeric values like reporting intervals
- Selection controls — for choosing between predefined options
- Toggles — for enabling or disabling features
After making changes, tap Send to apply them. The new settings are delivered to the device on its next communication cycle.
Configuration changes are not applied instantly. Devices receive updates when they next connect to the cloud, which depends on their reporting interval. For battery-powered devices, this may take some time.
Command Log
The configuration screen also shows a history of recent configuration changes sent to the device. Each entry includes:
- What was changed
- Delivery status (pending, delivered, or failed)
- Who made the change
- When it was sent
This log helps you verify that changes have been delivered and track who made them.
Unsupported Devices
Some device types do not support remote configuration. In that case, the configuration screen shows a message indicating that no configuration options are available for the device.
