AI-Assisted Features
Overview
Haltian Field uses AI image analysis to help you document devices faster. When you take a photo of a device or its installation site, the app can automatically generate an observation note or suggest relevant keywords — saving time during field visits.
AI features are available from the Device Details screen via dedicated action buttons.

AI-Generated Notes
The app can analyze a device photo and produce a brief observation note describing what it sees — such as the device mounting position, surrounding environment, or visible labels.
How to Use
- Open a device from Search or Recents
- Ensure the device has a photo (or take one first)
- Tap the AI note action button on the Device Details screen
- The app sends the photo for analysis and generates a note
- Review the suggested note text
- Save or discard the suggestion
The generated note uses metric or imperial units depending on your device locale.
AI-generated notes are suggestions. Always review the content before saving — the model may occasionally misidentify details.
AI Keyword Suggestions
The app can analyze a device photo and suggest 5–10 relevant keywords based on what it sees in the image — such as the device type, mounting style, environment, or nearby equipment.
How to Use
- Open a device from Search or Recents
- Ensure the device has a photo
- Tap the AI keywords action button on the Device Details screen
- The app analyzes the photo and presents a list of suggested keywords
- Each suggestion shows whether it is an existing keyword in your organization or a new keyword (marked with ✨)
- Select the keywords you want to assign using the checkmarks
- Confirm to assign them to the device
New keywords that don’t yet exist in your organization are created automatically when you confirm.
AI keyword suggestions work best with clear, well-lit photos that show the device and its surroundings. The more context in the image, the better the suggestions.
Privacy and Data Handling
- Photos are sent to the AI service only when you explicitly trigger an AI action
- Processing occurs within the EU (Mistral AI, Paris)
- Photos are not stored by the AI service beyond the processing request
- No data is used for model training

In accordance with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation 2024/1689), Article 50:
The AI-assisted features described on this page use a general-purpose AI system (Mistral AI) to generate content from device images. By using these features, you acknowledge that:
- AI-generated output — Notes and keyword suggestions are produced by an artificial intelligence system, not a human.
- Human review required — All AI-generated content is presented as suggestions for your review. You decide what to accept, modify, or discard.
- No automated decisions — The AI system does not make decisions or take actions on your behalf. It provides recommendations that require explicit user confirmation.
- Data processing — When you trigger an AI feature, the device image is transmitted to Mistral AI (EU-hosted) for processing. See Haltian’s privacy policy for details on data handling.
Use of AI features is optional. All functionality of Haltian Field remains available without activating AI-assisted capabilities.
