Devices

Are additional accessories available and needed?

Thingsee devices come with standard mounting accessories. Additional accessories like POWERCOVER (external power) and ANGLE (mounting brackets) are available separately.

Are there limitations on where I can install Thingsee devices?

Devices should be installed within range of the Wirepas mesh network. Consider environmental factors like temperature range (-40°C to +85°C for most devices) and IP rating for outdoor installations.

What’s the battery life of devices?

Battery life varies by device and configuration:

Typical sensors: 5-10 years depending on reporting interval
Presence sensors: 3-5 years with default settings
Contact your account manager for specific estimates based on your use case

What’s the IP classification for devices?

Indoor sensors: IP40-IP54 (dust and splash resistant)
Rugged sensors: IP67 (dust-tight, water submersion resistant)
Gateways: IP40 (indoor use)

Where does Haltian manufacture its devices?

Thingsee devices are manufactured in Finland using Haltian’s in-house tools and manufacturing partner facilities.

Connectivity

How does Wirepas work?

Wirepas is a decentralized mesh networking protocol. Sensors communicate with each other and route data through the mesh to reach gateways. The network self-organizes and self-heals.

What are the network settings required by Thingsee GATEWAY LAN?

DHCP or static IP configuration
Outbound HTTPS (port 443) to AWS IoT Core
No inbound connections required

What bands are supported by Thingsee GATEWAY GLOBAL?

Thingsee GATEWAY GLOBAL supports global LTE bands for worldwide cellular coverage. Specific band support varies by region - contact sales for details.

Can Thingsee BEAM be used to measure liquids?

Yes, Thingsee BEAM can measure liquid levels in tanks using ultrasonic distance sensing. Ensure proper mounting above the liquid surface.

How far can Thingsee PRESENCE detect movement?

Thingsee PRESENCE detection range is approximately 5-7 meters depending on installation height and angle. Detection sensitivity can be configured.

How Thingsee PRESENCE works?

Thingsee PRESENCE uses a PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor to detect motion and body heat. It reports presence/absence events and can track occupancy duration.

What’s the accuracy for Thingsee PRESENCE?

Thingsee PRESENCE achieves high accuracy in typical office environments. Accuracy depends on installation height, angle, and environmental factors.

Data & Integration

How can I access the sensor data?

Sensor data can be accessed via:

MQTT data stream (real-time)
HTTP REST API
Custom integrations (Azure IoT Hub, AWS, etc.)
Dashboard integrations (Splunk, Thingsboard, etc.)

How often do devices send data?

Default reporting intervals vary by device and measurement type:

Environmental data: 15-60 minutes
Presence events: Real-time (on change)
Device health: Every 24 hours

Intervals can be configured based on your requirements.

What is your return/RMA process?

Contact support@haltian.com to initiate an RMA. Provide device serial numbers and description of the issue. Replacement or repair will be arranged based on warranty status.
